There are times when a collective edge protection solution is required without detracting from a building’s aesthetics. In these cases KeeGuard® Foldshield provides the ideal solution.
KeeGuard® Foldshield is designed for use on slopes up to 10° and is suitable on asphalt, concrete, mineral felt or PVC sheet covered roofs. The system’s unique hinged base foot allows it to be set vertically at 90º and then folded down flat onto the roof when required.
KeeGuard® Foldshield features a hinged version of the KeeGuard® base fitting which allows the guardrail to be easily lifted into place when work is in progress, and then quickly folded back down when finished.
The systems complies with the requirements of EN 13374 and offers the same design flexibility as conventional KeeGuard® including continuous runs, fixed ends, corners and changes in direction. The added benefit is that it can be installed in 6m sections with ‘D’ returns which allow it to be folded down quickly and easily. A simple locking pin on the base fitting allows the system to pivot.
KeeGuard® Foldshield has a maximum bay size of 3m and can be used in both restrained and unrestrained applications. When used in restraint applications, an additional support post is added to the upright at 6m intervals, this allows enough room for the fitting to pivot. A minimum roof up stand of 250mm is required.
