KEE COVER has been designed to provide a simple and easy to install solution for fragile roof light and skylight protection.
According to the HSE around 7 people are killed each year as a result of falling through a fragile roof or fragile roof light, and many more suffer permanent disabling injury. Roof lights and skylights can blend in with a roof’s surface if they are not cleaned properly, or become brittle over time, both of which present serious hazards to those working on the roof.
Kee® Cover allows fragile roof lights and skylights to be protected quickly and easily with a strong mesh panel mounted onto a metal frame.
Kee® Cover is designed to be assembled on site so is delivered in component form, making it quick and easy to carry to the roof level. The covers comprise a mesh panel which sits onto a metal frame constructed from Kee Klamp® fittings. The standard mesh panels are 2m long and 1m wide. 2m or 1m long x 1m wide extension panels are available for larger roof light protection.
Kee® Cover is available in two formats. The standard panel is designed to fix virtually flat to the roof surface while the raised format is mounted on small legs. This provides a greater distance between the mesh panel and the roof light, so if someone were to fall, the cover would absorb the impact and prevent the roof light from being damaged.
Kee® Cover has been tested to meet current safety standards for roof light protection including:
